Co-founders Lauren (Left) and Becky (Right) have been friends for 20 years and have experienced all of lifes major milestones together. Lauren is a stay at home mom of three small children and Becky owns Direct Chiropractic Screenings, LLC and also has three daughters!!
The inspiration behind GlucoGear came about when Lauren's 18 month old son Landon (currently age 4) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in July of 2010. Since that time Lauren found that once Landon's diabetes log book (that Landon received when he was diagnosed from his diabetic nurse) was full, it was next to impossible to find a new tracking journal at a store, online or at the doctor's office. In Lauren's frustration she mentioned to Becky her need to find Landon a new log book to manage his diabetes, and Becky suggested "Let's create our own!".
Becky's step-dad has type 2 diabetes so she also understands the daily struggles to track and manage this disease. Diabetes is hard enough to manage on a daily basis under the best circumstances, but not having all the available tools can make this disease harder to control than it already is.
GlucoGear, LLC was founded on the principle that we would provide fun, stylish and convenient tracking journals for all of the faces that diabetes affects. Whether you have type 1 or type 2, need to carb count, or just track your blood sugar GlucoGear has a journal for you!!
